About Close your Eyes

Close Your Eyes and Dream began in the quiet hours of motherhood.

When her young and wonderfully rambunctious twins struggled to settle at bedtime, radio personality Gina Martell, whose warm voice has been heard by South Floridians for over two decades on Miami’s Love 94 FM, searched for gentle ways to help them relax. A veteran voice artist for networks including Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and HBO, Gina tried traditional bedtime stories designed to lull children to sleep… but they simply didn’t work.

So, she turned inward.

Instead of reading to them, she began guiding her children on imaginative journeys — inviting them to breathe, to picture peaceful scenes, to walk through rainforests, across African plains, and into the safety of their own inner worlds. Her intention was simple yet powerful: to help them relax deeply enough to enter a calm, dreamlike theta state — where imagination becomes vivid, the body softens, and sleep comes naturally.

And it worked.

In today’s world, where many children fall asleep to glowing screens and electronics have quietly become both entertainment and babysitter, Close Your Eyes offers something beautifully different. There are no flashing images. No devices in their hands. Only sound.

A return to stillness.

Designed for children ages 2–8, these guided audio journeys gently draw children away from electronics and invite them to create their own pictures — not on a screen, but within their own minds and hearts. Each child becomes the artist of their own inner world.

Seeing the profound results in her own children, Gina partnered with Steve Johnson at Outpost Studios to beautifully produce the stories, and with acclaimed acoustic harpist Roberto Perera to create the soothing musical landscapes that gently carry each journey.

What began as a mother’s loving solution has grown into a heartfelt offering for families everywhere — an invitation for children to slow down, breathe deeply, imagine freely, and drift into peaceful, restorative sleep.

“Imagination is one of the greatest powers we have. Without it, we may never learn to dream of what can be… or who we can become.”
— Gina Martell
